Welcome to San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano is most known for the historical Mission San Juan Capistrano, the annual migration of the Swallows, and its equestrian properties. Incorporated as a city in 1961, the town provides many open hillsides, trails, and parks for its residents to enjoy. Approximately 40% of the city is ‘open space’.

The city’s vision and charm are based around the Mission San Juan Capistrano, therefore, much of San Juan Capistrano’s architecture is Spanish influenced. It seems San Juan Capistrano homes offer the widest variety, including those built prior to the 1900s in its central district, some being adobes from the 18th century, to its 10 million-dollar mansions in gated hillside communities.

San Juan Capistrano is well known for its small village-like character. In fact, the City’s motto is “preserving the past to enhance the future.” San Juan Capistrano is home to the oldest church in California, Mission San Juan Capistrano, which is often referred to as the “Jewel of Missions” because of its beauty.
